The Swami were born in 2003 in Milan, when Livio “Liv” Macchia, vocals, guitar (homonym son of Livio Macchia, singer of the Italian band “Camaleonti”) meet Marco Mantovani, bass guitar, voice and chorus.
The band was finally completed in 2006 with the arrival of Giorgio Campera, Hammond, Rodhes, Moog, Piano and Davide Lepido, drums and percussions. The Swami are the only band that combines the unique stile of the 60’s and 70’s with the modern rock by constantly researching and use of many different instruments. To date they have composed over 80 songs and self made their own cds, recorded over 100 hours of live performances, 3 self-made videos and over than 250 live performance in U.E. from pubs to festival. 30 of Sept. 2009 is the relase date for the new debut mini Album “POEMS and SHOES” (Camaleo-Goldmine / B.T.F.), including six songs recorded in 2008 at Massive Arts Studios (Milan), the new videoclip of “Silver Haze” (DaDa prod.) and extra special contents with recently video live, recorded the Sept. 2009 and mixed at Medastudios l’Isola (Milano)
The last band broductions combine different art ways; The Dance, into the new “Silver Haze” videoclip from the great collaboration with the HDT (Hinterland Dance Company); the visual art, into the paiting created for the new album cover by Giovanni Talami from Bonelli (Dylan Dog, Tex Willer, Martin Mystère, Magico Vento, …) In the past…in 2004 the band recorded and filmed a tribute video to Pink Floyd, “See Emily Play” In 2007 the band started preparing for the production of their first official album. In the meantime they have also filmed a second video for a new song “ERA”, presented alongside a short filming with comments from people in the showbiz, music and art.
The 2009/2010 live tour date is coming, whit great show in Rome and Milan in Dec.2009/Gen. Feb. 2010.
