During the second half of the Sixties in Italy, besides the beat music trend ad the Italian-sung cover songs of famous artists from other countries, there were some who, such as Jolly Records, ‘imported’ some French artists, sometimes granting them an even greater success than they had in their own country.
Michel Polnareff, born in 1944 like his compatriot Antoine, also worked with translator/lyricist Herbert Pagani, co-author of several hit songs. Among the most famous songs of Polnareff, included in this CD we find “Love me please love me” (with an English title but sung in Italian) and “Una bambolina che fa no, no, no… “.
The LP also includes original songs sung in French, two per side: “Histoire de coeur” (History of heart), “Sous quelle étoile suis-je né?” (Under what star am I born?), “Ballade pour toi” (Ballad for you) and “Ne me Marchez pas sur les pieds” (Do not step on my feet).
