Arturo Stàlteri is a surprising artist, and we can certainly say it for two reasons: he is an artist of extraordinary talent, brilliant composer and refined musician but, and this is the case of this new album, he always surprises us with unreleased treasures kept in a closet for many years.
“Visione dai Tarocchi” (Vision from the Tarots) is a ballet by the American choreographer Barbara Schaefer of which Arturo Stàlteri wrote, played and recorded the music, staged on May 28th, 29th, 30th and 31st 1985 at the Teatro in Trastevere in Rome.
A dreamlike work, like the esoteric, allegorical and prescient vision of the tarot cards, by Arturo Stàlteri that demonstrates how the experience of “Gudrun” with Pierrot Lunaire and especially of his first solo album in 1979 “André sulla Luna” was absolutely not exhausted in the use of electronic experiments and in the search for music outside the mainstream.
The artist of “Visione dai Tarocchi” is perhaps the genuinely progressive Stàlteri, the Stàlteri who searches for unusual forms of composition and for the use of musical instruments, both electronic and acoustic.
In fact, this album can be understood as the third solo album by Arturo Stàlteri and his return, after “Andrè sulla Luna”, on the record scene, a place held until now by “E il pavone parlò alla luna” of 1987 (even if recorded between 1980 and 1982), after a period of reflection and study with Maestro Aldo Ciccolini, after a long trip to India and an intense broadcasting activity first with Vatican Radio and then with RAI , a collaboration that still continues with great success.
The album, produced and recorded by Arturo Stàlteri at the Citadel Studio and mixed by Maurizio Campagnano and Arturo Stàlteri at the Seven Hills Studio in 1985, has been mastered by Mauro Mulas in 2022.
The artwork and graphics of the booklet and CD are designed and created by OndemediE.
