The new chapter of Banco del Mutuo Soccorso’s live “Seguendo le Tracce” is finally available. Now in double CD digipack format, with songs never released before and remastered using the new possibilities of Artificial Intelligence.
It was 1975 when Banco del Mutuo Soccorso toured the squares of Italy offering memorable concerts full of songs from equally memorable albums. Because “the 70s were a particular and rich decade; a mosaic, a great labyrinth made of large avenues and alleys, of horizons within reach to reach … a moment of great general utopia, splendid, beautiful, not to be celebrated with nostalgia ” (Vittorio Nocenzi)
And on April 23 of that year, at the Verdi theater in Salerno, the magic was repeated in front of an audience at the same time fascinated and polemical towards the first attempts to propose their songs with lyrics in English, in the hope of widening their audience to an international audience. Here, then, this new version of the album, released in a limited format with some less songs in 2005, also becomes a testimony of an era in the dialogues between the band and the public faithfully reported and without censorship.
The album has been remastered for the occasion with advanced AI tools, in particular with Izotope and the Music Rebalance module that have allowed to identify and differentiate all the audio sources, allowing to clean up and work on the individual tracks despite the old original master on tape, and then re-equalize everything. The result is amazing for a live that seems to have been recorded by a mixer last month.
All this is seasoned with a 16-page booklet full of photos of the time and the anastatic images of the “travel diary” that the unforgettable Rodolfo Maltese compiled with suggestions, news and drawings.
The project demonstrates the will of Maracash to propose a concert of a historically relevant period, never published in this format, of the “Band par excellence” filling a gap of decades. A way to give intact the great emotions that only true music can give to an audience that brings together at least three generations, to propose a moment of authenticity that today is difficult to find in show business and rediscover the desire to “think differently” and “be different” characteristic of those years of great desires.
