Wonderful this new album by PLAYADES led by the friend Fabio Esposito, beautiful sounds that take inspiration and origin from an esoteric and ancestral vision of the universe and its most hidden, remote, alchemical secrets, in a journey to the roots of ancient human civilizations, an esoteric and initiatory wandering towards occult and magical ceremonial arcana lost in time.
A music that can be traced back to a certain noble, hypnotic psychedelia of an ethnic and archetypal/ancestral nature to Third Ear Band, to Aktuala, to Zeit of “Un giorno in una piazza del Mediterraneo” and “Il circolo degli antichi colori”, to Agitation Free of “Malesh” or to Popol Vuh of “In den Gärten Pharaos”, Brainticket of Celestial Ocean etc.
A refined and original album …. we are facing something truly excellent, grandiose.
Very good stuff. (Saverio De Chiara – UFO club)
In an era of cultural obscurantism, such as the one we are currently experiencing, the rediscovery of ancient myths and legends that are lost in the mists of time could be a good way to reconcile ourselves with an everyday reality that leaves little room for imagination and creativity.
And so fortunately every now and then from nowhere and apparently “out of this world” projects like that of the Modena-based Playades emerge, becoming a precious “manna from heaven”, who with their music manage in unison to unite the myths and legends mentioned above with the reality of a dreamlike and bucolic folklore whose survival is necessary.
