“Among the leading members of the contemporary Italian scene concerning experimentation, sound research and poetry made available for analysis, there are the Qohelet of GIANNI VENTURI (singer/poet – Altare Thotemico, Moloch, Mantra Informatico) and ALESSANDRO SERAVALLE (electronics, piano, synth, samples – Garden Wall, Officina F.lli Seravalle).
After the debut dated 2020 with the same title, the duo is back with the second act entitled “Cantico Dei Cantici”, focused on the edition of Guido Ceronetti, a total praise to love and women seen almost in a feminist key.
The careful research of sounds, of the vocal approach and of the themes, means that this music is aimed at a strictly prepared audience and open to contemporary art, where listening is linked to reflection.
The work divided into eight tracks, is supported by the presence of two special guests already known in this context, namely GIANPIETRO SERAVALLE (rhythmic sequences), Alessandro’s brother and partner in the Officina F.lli Seravalle project, and EMILIANO VERNIZZI, sax also in Altare Thotemico, a band in which Gianni Venturi himself plays.
“Cantico Dei Cantici” is an absolutely singular work, a punch in the stomach, a violence perpetrated on the mind of those who generally do not like to think while listening to music. Here instead matter, strength, love, spirit hovers… Art”.
