Alessio Trapella releases “Icaro”, his second solo album:
A rock concept suspended between stars and the abyss
After his acclaimed solo debut, Alessio Trapella returns with a new and powerful work: Icaro, a six-track rock concept album based on the famous mythological legend and tells a double story, visceral and contemporary. The album will be available on October 10 on all digital platforms and in physical format, CD and LP.
Icaro is both a sonic and narrative journey divided into two acts: the ascent and the fall. An album balanced between dream and damnation, intertwining two overlapping narrative layers.
The first story—the visible, fantastic one—is set in a suspended future, where a modern Icarus feels an irresistible need to travel among the stars. Thanks to the help of a mysterious “man of the stars,” he embarks on a cosmic journey that takes him further and further away from Earth, from reality, to a point of no return.
But beneath this science-fiction surface lies a second, rawer, more earthly story: a parable of addiction and self-destruction. The desire to escape is the symptom of a deeper malaise. The “man of the stars” is the dealer, the spaceship a dose, and deep space becomes the prison of oblivion.
