G.T. Music Distribution proudly annouces the agreement for distributing the CD by the title “Cut the Tongue”, of JULIUS PROJECT, a music collective led by Giuseppe “Julius” Chiriatti and coordinated by the ex member of the group JUMBO Paolo Dolfini.
The genesis of the whole project has been long and engaging: born in ’56, Julius has gathered wide musical experience on and off stage as a keyboardist in several bands, earning himself a reputation in native Salento. One of the core songs in the album, “Clouds”, dates back to New Year’s Eve of 1978; most of the remaining songs were then composed in the following three years with the last one, “Desert Way”, completed in January 1981.

One of the core songs in the album, “Clouds”, dates back to New Year’s Eve of 1978; most of the remaining songs were then composed in the following three years with the last one, “Desert Way”, completed in January 1981.
Many musicians were involved in the recording process: Bianca Berry (Julius’ daughter), main vocals, Filippo Dolfini on drums and Marco Croci (formerly from Maxophone) on bass and vocals; they built the framework onto which the whole album was assembled. Afterwards, unique contributions were added by two other former Jumbo members – Dario Guidotti on flute and vocals and Daniele Bianchini on guitar – and by guitarist Flavio Scansani. in addition to Julius himself on keyboards and vocals in some tracks, other musicians contributed to the album: Francesco Marra and Mario Manfreda on guitars, Egidio Presicce on saxophone and Martina Chiriatti on vocals.
In 2019 Julius composed the last song, “Cut the Tongue”, working with lyrics of the time; the title-track features the unique contribution from Richard Sinclair (formerly from Caravan, Hatfield and the North, Camel and an undisputed protagonist in the Canterbury progressive scene) who gifted Julius Project with his voice.

Finally, mixing and mastering were carried out at RecLab Studios in Buccinasco (Milan, Italy), in August 2020 thanks to the experience and inspiration of Larsen Premoli. He, too, was fascinated by the history of the project, and was excited to “put an end to an album who began seeing the light of day in 1978”.
