A mysterious band, only known to very few collectors, they where
noticed at first for their contribution on the hopeless sold-out
Italian Prog sampler that was a bonus to the same-named book. Breznev
Fun Club, were born in the deep south of Italy, namely Montescaglioso
(MT) at the beginning of the eighties and probably it is the first
prog band from Lucania to release a CD.

The BFC, more than a real band, is actually a varied ensemble of great guests, who perform Rocco Lomonaco’s multifaceted compositions, which meander between Avant-Prog and contemporary cultured music, spiced with rock and jazz metrics, on which the poetic torrent of Franco Sciscio’s Sprechgesang rests.

In terms of comparison, Brezhnev Fun closely resemble Picchio dal Pozzo, of which they seem to be the logical continuation, capturing its legacy in terms of virtuosity and irony, proposing a cultured but at the same time pleasant musical flow that projects them directly among the best and the most interesting Italian prog releases of recent years.
A pleasant surprise from the deep south of Italy, highly recommended!!
