“Un’altra mano di carte” is the second album released by the group Limite Acque Sicure (Ferrara, Italy), two years after the first.
In the new album the group develops a theme, a “concept”: some characters, recounting their life experiences, actually address extremely current social issues. Marginalization, oppression, war, are some of the themes that emerge from the stories contained in the six songs. But in every story there is always a glimmer of hope, a small gesture of rebellion, a burst of pride that suggests a possibility of change.
“Un’altra mano di carte” also represents the bizarre nature of fate, the good fortune or bad luck of being born in a certain historical moment, in a certain place. But when the deck of cards is shuffled, destiny starts moving again, hopes are rekindled, waiting for a better hand, luckier than the previous one. It is no coincidence that the characters associated with the songs are portrayed in playing cards, precisely to represent how fate affects their stories, the stories of all of us. The theme of “difficult” lives arises from the personal sensitivity of the artists for social issues, which concern man, his history in the world. Limite Acque Sicure entrusts its compositions with food for thought for the listener, in the awareness that music must also have this purpose.
