EXCEPTIONAL DEBUT LP BY AGORÀ, A JAZZ-ROCK OUTFIT HAILING
FROM CENTRAL ITALY WITH A WIDE-SPECTRUM INTERNATIONAL SOUND!
Hailing from the Italian town of Ancona, Agorà were founded in 1974 and, thanks to a simple demo, managed to capture the attention of the promoters of the legendary Montreux Festival (which many will remember for the famous fire that inspired Deep Purple’s “Smoke on the Water”). Their technical skills enabled the band to walk on the event stage in full force, and to perform an exceptional show, captured in this memorable LP: this is also the first time that an Italian band debuted with a live album.
The main inspiration for Agorà’s music comes from artists such as Weather Report, Perigeo and the 60s/70s electric Miles Davis, but the entire performance is imbued by a spiritual aura – you just can’t avoid hearing the melody of John Coltrane’s “A Love Supreme” while listening to the track “Penetration” – that further elevates the quality of this offering.
A little gem, here reissued on transparent green vinyl, including a reproduction of the original insert.
