“Made in Italy“ is Loredana Bertè’s sixth recording project released on the CGD label in 1981.
It is the first album where there are songs written by Bertè herself: “Lontano da dove”, initially composed as the soundtrack for the homonymous film by Stefania Casini, “Number one” and “Canterò”.
“Amica notte” is the only song in Bertè’s repertoire signed by Gianni Bella. “Ninna nanna”, “La goccia” and “Movie” had a great notoriety.
The album, produced by Mario Lavezzi and arranged by the American funk band Platinum Hook, was recorded in the spring of 1981 at Electric Lady Studios in New York. There is a video clip of the song “Movie” directed by Andy Warhol, which Bertè met in New York during the making of the album. During this period, thanks to her culinary skills, Bertè earned the nickname Pasta Queen at the Factory. Even the cover photo, signed by Christopher Makos, is the result of Bertè’s collaboration with the Warhol Factory.
This great record of Italian pop history is back on the market today in an unreleased collector’s version: LP 180GR. Limited Edition White Vinyl.
