Los Brincos have been one of the best Spanish bands of the sixties. Sometimes they were playing a primitive and clumsy beat, alternated with very beautiful ballads; compared to those international vocal groups, they were usually called the ‘Spanish Beatles’ Their sound was immediately recognizable and in Italy they were often compared to the music played by a popular italian band called “I Ribelli” between 1965 and 1966. Their vocal counterpoint was perfect, while musically they were simple but truly effective.
From 1964 to 1966 the band’s line-up consisted of Fernando Arbex, Manuel González, Juan and Junior Pardo .In 1967 Juan and Junior were replaced by Vicente Ramírez and Miguel Morales. Juan and Junior would eventually form a duo and release six 45rpm’s plus some songs versions for the foreign market.
Los Brincos should be remembered thanks to many appearances in the charts; In 1964 “Flamenco” would become the 5th best-selling album of 1965, as well as “Sola” and “Borracho” would be both the 6th best selling songs; Of course all of those three songs ranked to the first places in the charts. In 1966 the song “Mejor” ranked at the 7th place and became the best selling single, in addition to the song “Tu me dijieste adios”, that stayed 22 weeks in the charts. Los Brincos have been very successful in Italy, thanks to the Italian versions of their songs released by Jolly in those years.
