*HIDDEN GEMS* IS A NEW CINEVOX RECORD SERIES DEDICATED TO
CULT AND OBSCURE SOUNDTRACKS COLLECTORS.
“La Moglie Più Bella” (The Most Beautiful Wife) is a 1970 dramatic film directed by Damiano Damiani, in which a very young Ornella Muti made her debut. The soundtrack, composed by Ennio Morricone and conducted by Bruno Nicolai, remained unreleased until the 90s, with the exception of two songs (the title-track and “Tema di Francesca”) that were released on a 45rpm single. This is therefore the first ever vinyl release of this soundtrack!
Ennio Morricone as composer, Bruno Nicolai as conductor and Edda Dell’Orso as vocalist guarantee a result that is nothing short of exceptional: “La Moglie Più Bella” is undoubtedly one of Morricone’s most precious ‘hidden gem’, thanks to scores that combine classical and popular music, as the Maestro had already showed in “Il Clan
Dei Siciliani” (The Sicilian Clan), adorned with dramatic, mysterious and gloomy atmospheres; the use of pounding percussion in some tracks also conveys feelings of tragedy and hopelessness, perfect for a film like this.
