“L’uomo” is the debut album by Neapolitan Osanna, a band that already at the time could be considered a sort of ‘supergroup’ made up of former members of I Volti di Pietra, Città Frontale and Showmen. Their debut therefore shows a remarkable compositional and executive maturity, and already contains all of the Osanna’s sound main elements: the beautiful voice of Lino Vairetti (with interesting lyrics too), the aggressive flute of Elio D’Anna, the fluid guitar style by Danilo Rustici and the solid rhythm section by Lello Brandi and Massimo Guarino.
Like all Osanna albums from the early 1970s, “L’uomo” is one of Italian progressive rock’s great classics, an album capable of combining rock, jazz and popular music in a unique way. Essential!
