ALBERTO RIGONI – PROG INJECTION
Alberto Rigoni (BADASS, ex-Twinspirits, co-produttore del Vivaldi Metal Project, fondatore del Bassists Alliance Project, giusto per elencare alcuni dei suoi progetti e attività), dopo aver pubblicato sette album solisti tra il 2008 e il 2018, dà oggi alla luce la sua nuova creatura “Prog Injection”, un album di rock progressivo strumentale che vede la partecipazione del batterista Thomas Lang (Peter Gabriel, Paul Gilbert, Glenn Hughes) e del tastierista Alessandro Bertoni (Ric Fierabracci, Craig Blundell, Brett Garsed).
Alberto Rigoni: “Ancora una volta… ho cercato di innalzare ulteriormente il livello delle mie composizioni e della mia tecnica musicale e, grazie al fondamentale apporto del drumming Thomas Lang e delle tastiere di Alessandro, penso (e spero) che siamo riusciti ad ottenere un sound unico che definirei ‘heavy prog’!”.
Thomas Lang: Questo è un album strumentale grintoso, progressive e costellato di potenti riff, che trae ispirazione sia dal classico prog degli anni ’70, sia dalla musica rock e metal del ventunesimo secolo. Questa fusione di stili crea una combinazione interessante, e confesso che mi sono divertito molto nell’arricchire queste canzoni con groove poderosi che trovano le proprie radici nel rock, nel funk e nel metal. L’album è pieno di avvincenti riff di basso, ritmi muscolosi e tastiere eteree suonate con tanta personalità e attitudine”.

After the release of seven solo albums between 2008 and 2018, Italian bassist and composer Alberto Rigoni (BADASS band, ex-Twinspirits, co-producer of Vivaldi Metal Project, founder of Bassists Alliance Project, just to name a few) is now releasing “Prog Injection”, an instrumental heavy progressive album which features worldwide known drummer Thomas Lang (Peter Gabriel, Paul Gilbert, Glenn Hughes) and Alessandro Bertoni on keyboards (Ric Fierabracci, Craig Blundell, Brett Garsed).
Alberto Rigoni: “Again … I tried to bring my composition and bass to another level and, together with Thomas’ drumming and Alessandro’s keys, I think (and hope) we created a unique sound that I would call ‘heavy prog’!”.
Thomas Lang: “This is a gritty, riff-heavy and progressive instrumental album that draws inspiration both from classic 70’s Prog and 21st century rock and metal music. This fusion of styles makes for an interesting combination and I enjoyed driving these songs with heavy grooves that are rooted in traditional rock, funk and metal. The album is full of hooky bass riffs, muscular beats and ethereal keyboards played with tons of personality and attitude”.
