The double LP format of the latest Break’N’Bossa contains the most refined pieces in the compilation, irrespective of each style. Some sound more classic, others more contemporary. All were selected to play best on vinyl. The first record begins with a new version of “Pinkie” on side A. The track released by Beat Out Shrine in 2006, here sounds more organic. A great Jazz performance in a Bossa/Afro/Latin key, with gripping solos and bags of swing. Side B has 2 tracks. The 1st one is from the Swedish Stockolm Cyclo, on a Beatfanatic re-dit. The lovely flute and acoustic structure of the piece mingle perfectly with effects, which then fade as the tune ends to leave room to the Jazz. The 2nd “Jurubeba” is a new piece signed by Luis Ferri, with the delightful touch of Bianchi (on piano) and Fedreghini on the “carioca” effects. The suave voice of Brazilian-born Adi Souza then adds a specially authentic feel to the piece.
On the 2nd record a new amazing version of a song taken from Mario Biondi debut album (“A Handful of Soul”). It became a magnificent orchestral Bossa thanks to the re-work by Alessandro Magnanini, who is the co-writer of the song with Mario Biondi.
The following song “Ocean” is by “The Dining Rooms”, it offers a different Bossa with a pleasant and relaxing “ambient” atmosphere. The remixed parts do not sound intrusive at all on the piano melody making it a lovely piece.
The remix on the last side D ends the project with a classic blueprint of Schema Records. An old theme featured on the Fragmentorchestra album retouched by one of the most significant producer of Schema’s history, Nicola Conte.
A double LP which cannot be out of the collection of a passionate music lover.
