Earshock Records is a subsidiary of AMS, an historical record label speciaized in Italian Progressive Rock, since the ’70s until today. Earshock stays focused on Italian artists, but exclusively in the field of hard’n’heavy music in all of its forms.
The second Earshock release is the hyper-rare and almost impossible to find “Cloister Cemetery in the Snow” record, here renamed into “Window in Time”, with a completely cemeterial and spacey new artwork! The album was originally released in 2011 in a so-called ‘private press’ of only 100 copies on vinyl only; repeatedly postponed, the CD version is now finally availble, with the addition of two new tracks, “Dawn” and “Venus Fight”, which lengthen the record duration to more than one hour.
The music of Anno Mundi, a duo consisting of Alessio Secondini Morelli (guitars, percussions, backing vocals) and Gianluca Livi (drums and percussions, acoustic and bass guitar) with many additional session musicians, is the most classic and epic doom metal, clearly inspired by Black Sabbath and Cathedral. The guests in “Window in Time” come from bands such as Banco del Mutuo Soccorso and Ezra Winston, and particularly contribute with precious insertions of flute (“Dawn”, “Scarlet Queen”) and saxophone (“Dwarf Planet”, “Tardis”). This is an album that raised a lot of interest in the underground when it was first released, and that is now going to push the boundaries of Anno Mundi’s music!
