After the impressive debut album released in January 2016 by AMS Records, a quick return return by The Winstons \u2013 Enrico Gabrielli \/ Roberto Dell\u2019Era \/ Lino Gitto (Calibro 35, Mariposa, Afterhours, Side B) \u2013 was expected\u2026 but not on such a short notice! The trio\u2019s critics and audience response has been unexpected indeed, and generally extremely positive: seems like the band\u2019s mix of Canterbury (Soft Machine in the first place) and psychedelic sounds (The Doors and The Beatles among all) contained in The Winstons\u2019 self-titled debut record was actually very special and original.<\/p>\n
Recorded live on January 22nd at Angelo Mai, \u201cLive in Rome\u201d intensifies the strong impact of \u201cThe Winstons\u201d by adding an energetic \u2018live\u2019 dimension, and adds to the studio album tracklist, here proposed in full, the two unreleased jams \u201cZip to Zap Riot Trip\u201d and \u201cOku No Dajes\u201d. All of this is packaged in the typical papersleeve \/ gatefold vinyl replica format of AMS Records, including a CD audio and a DVD-NTSC video, the latter enriched with peculiar visuals \u2018ad hoc\u2019. An attached 16-page photographic booklet also contains snapshots taken during that magical evening.<\/p>\n
The group\u2019s many years of experience on stage, all over Italy and abroad, emerge here with a surprising ease, the same proven in handling the \u2018progressive matter\u2019 far better than many other older artists.
