The beginning of 2020 has seen the release of the new Alex Puddu full-length record, “Discotheque”, a strong set of soulful and melodic tracks with a tight production that brings you back to the late ’70s and early ’80s jazz-funk and boogie music scene.<\/p>\n
Apart from the 10 tracks of the official album, some extra material had been produced, and “All I Want Is Your Love” is an unreleased track coming straight from those recording sessions. The song was originally written by Alex Puddu, with the collaboration of Rodney Stith, who wrote the lyrics and sang on it. Stith is a very talented American soul vocalist from Petersburg (Virginia, USA), with a vocal style that reminds of Bobby Womack and The Temptations’ David Ruffin.<\/p>\n
“All I Want Is Your Love” is an up-tempo R&B ballad with a strong hook-line and catchy chorus, and we felt it was great enough to deserve a special 7-inch release. As a B-side, you’ll find the full version of “Don’t Hold Back”, a record launch single that’s become a hit especially among UK radio stations.<\/p>\n

L’inizio del 2020 ha visto la pubblicazione del nuovo album di Alex Puddu, “Discotheque”, un insieme consistente di tracce piene di pathos e melodiche, con una produzione asciutta che proietta i brani direttamente in una dimensione a cavallo tra fine anni ‘70 e inizio ‘80 e alla scena jazz \/ funk \/ boogie dell’epoca.<\/p>\n
Oltre alle dieci tracce incluse nel disco ufficiale, è stato anche registrato dell’altro materiale, tra cui “All I Want Is Your Love”, inedito proveniente dalle medesime sessioni in studio. Il brano, scritto in origine da Alex Puddu, vede la collaborazione di Rodney Stith nelle vesti di cantante e autore dei testi. Stith è un talentuoso vocalist soul proveniente da Petersburg (Virginia, USA), il cui stile ricorda Bobby Womack e David Ruffin dei Temptations.<\/p>\n
“All I Want Is Your Love” è una ballata R&BG dal ritmo sostenuto, che cattura sin da subito grazie a una linea melodica e a un ritornello perfettamente azzeccati; di conseguenza, non poteva che meritare una release speciale sotto forma di 45 giri. Sul lato B troverete invece la versione integrale di “Don’t Hold Back”, singolo di lancio dell’album “Discotheque” diventato hit specialmente sulle frequenze delle stazioni radio inglesi.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
