Born from an idea by Riccardo Scivales, keyboardist and founder of Quanah Parker, nel Castello delle Fate is a concept album about the Healing Power of Music, a power that is much stronger when it is given to you by the hands of a Woman.<\/p>\n
Its protagonist is a man who is lost and arrives in a mysterious castle inhabited by beautiful Fairy Ladies. Upon his arrival, they flee and disperse up the castle staircase, then each invite him into her room and seduce him with their Beauty and Magical Arts. With enchanting games and melodies, they heal him from his physical and internal ailments. The protagonist is now a new man, who leaves the Castle and finds himself a child walking through the tall grass of a wonderful bright meadow, where his mother is waiting for him and takes him by the hand.<\/p>\n
The band’s line-up is the one that for several years now, alongside Scivales, Pirrotta, Ongaro and Simeoni, has seen the splendid vocalist of Quanah Parker, the singer Meghi Moschino. And as a special guest there is also Riccardo’s daughter, Martina.<\/p>\n
The music for all the songs was composed by Riccardo Scivales, and the lyrics were written by Meghi Moschino, who was able to perfectly capture and express the idea and spirit of this concept.<\/p>\n
The language is typical of Quanah, with all the wonderful complexities of Prog (“odd” rhythms, timbre and harmonic refinements, energetic solos, etc.), without however giving up a concise form and a melody that is always very direct and “singable”. Delicate and evocative songs alternate with moments of great \u201crock\u201d energy, and everything is set in a \u201cmagical\/medieval\u201d atmosphere that serves as a backdrop to the evocative stories of the Fairies, told by the splendid voice of Meghi.<\/p>\n
These songs, almost all composed in 2021, have been successfully played in many concerts of Quanah (and of the \u201cMagico Carillon\u201d of Meghi and Riccardo), but their realization on record was slowed down by various contingent factors, in particular the pandemic with its lockdowns (which prevented group rehearsals for months) and Covid that hit Riccardo at the end of 2021, with a difficult Long-Covid that lasted until recently.
