“Anthakarana Swami” is Riccardo Zappa 1990 album. After the long tour with Eros Ramazzotti, Zappa produced the Strumento LP series for DDB/BMG Ariola. This italian collection of albums is the first and only of its kind dedicated to the best acoustic musicians. With this project many new artists were supported: among them Franco Morone, now acclaimed musician in the U.S.A., Walter Lupi, one of the best italian guitarists, Giuseppe Leopizzi, winner of a prize assigned by the John Lennon foundation for the best instrumental composition, Massimo Gatti, whom George Wiston interpreted on his last album, Rino Zurzolo and Giusto Pio, collaborator with an early Battiato.
“Anthakarana Swami” is obviously included in the Strumento collection, contributing to the promotion of the work of these emerging artists with results, until then, unimaginable for the italian market. The collection will host the most appreciated italian jazz musicians back then. Produced by Gianni Farè.
