MAD FELLAZ è una giovane band di Bassano del Grappa, formatasi nel 2010 come trio sperimentale: Paolo Busatto e Emanuele Pasin (chitarre), Marco Busatto (batteria). Con l’innesto di Carlo Passuello (basso), Enrico Brunelli (tastiere), Rudy Zilio (flauto, clarinetto, synth) le nuove composizioni trovano riferimento ai grandi nomi del progressive dei ’70, come King Crimson, Gentle Giant, Pink Floyd, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Focus, Area, Banco, senza tralasciare riferimenti più attuali come Opeth e Porcupine Tree.
La propensione aperta dei Mad Fellz consente di sperimentare e combinare anche diversi generi e sonorità, lasciando grande libertà al flusso creativo, senza precludere spontaneità e la dimensione più emozionale.

L’album d’esordio è totalmente strumentale e contiene 5 tracce, a volte molto lunghe come “Il Colpevole parte 1″ (16’27”), “Il Colpevole Parte 2″ (18’27”), “La Giungla” (14’33”), ricche di variazioni ritmiche e atmosferiche, particolarmente ispirate a sonorità seventies, tra dinamiche e tessiture progressive, sfumature psichedeliche e fragranze jazz-blues.
Una band molto promettente!!! Da affiancare per talune analogie ai trevigiani Magnetic Sound Machine, a rafforzare la nuova scena progressiva veneta.

MAD FELLAZ, a band from Bassano del Grappa (North Italy), was born in 2010 as an experimental trio ( Paolo Busatto and Emanuele Pasin at the electric guitars, Marco Busatto at the drums). A few months later, the band enlarged its membership : Carlo Passuello (bass) , Enrico Brunelli (keyboards) , Rudy Zilio ( flute, clarinet, synth). The compositions and the sound of the band are inspired by the great of the past like King Crimson, Gentle Giant, Pink Floyd, Mahavishnu Orchestra , Area, Banco del Mutuo Soccorso and the present like Opeth and Porcupine Tree. The band’s open minded vision allows it to experiment with different genres and to combine to its style also flamenco, funky and heavy metal. The main target is not to put limits on the creative flow and not to focus on a particular genre making use of all the knowledge in order to create music which can emotionally involve with natural expression.
Mad fellaz’s dèbut album (totally instrumental) is composed of 5 tracks: 1&2 Il colpevole (part one and two) is a long suite in which the band displays its style and 70’s influences. Dynamics and rhythms change frequently and go often onto a typically hard rock riffs; in this suite there are also smoothly rhythmed and calm passages on which enfatic solos stand.
