MALUS ANTLER è una giovane band emergente del bassanese attiva dal 2014. Inizialmente orientata verso un genere progressive rock ispirato ai gruppi italiani e inglesi degli anni ’70, ha recentemente cambiato direzione, dirigendosi verso uno stile più moderno e più vicino alle sonorità neopsichedeliche.
L’album è un punto d’incontro tra queste due matrici in quanto è stato ideato già dai primi mesi in cui la band si è formata, ma la registrazione è avvenuta solo nell’agosto 2016, e in questo arco di tempo il lavoro si è evoluto in quello che ora è denominato “Osimandia”.
In questi pochi anni di attività i MALUS ANTLER hanno suonato soprattutto in locali e piccoli festival del Veneto e ora, con l’uscita dell’album, l’obiettivo è quello di diffondere la musica anche fuori dalla regione di appartenenza.
BREVE DESCRIZIONE DELL’ALBUM
Racconta la band…
“Osimandia” è un concept album basato su un’interpretazione della figura del dio egizio Seth. A partire dal fatto che questa sia l’unica divinità egizia di cui non si conosce l’animale ipostatico abbiamo sviluppato una storia che narra della ricerca da parte di Seth della propria origine. Un viaggio che porta con sé vari interrogativi a cui però il Dio non riesce a trovare risposta.
Per quanto riguarda la copertina ed il nome dell’album abbiamo fatto riferimento ad una poesia di Percy Shelley che faceva al caso nostro, “Ozymandias”.

MALUS ANTLER is a young emerging band from the north of Italy since 2014. Initially geared towards a progressive rock genre inspired by Italian and English groups in the 1970s, it has recently changed direction, heading towards a more modern style and closer to neopsichedelic sounds.
The album is a meeting point between these two matrices.
In these few years of activity, MALUS ANTLER has played mostly in venues and small festivals in Veneto and now, with the release of the album, the goal is to spread the music even outside the region.
“Osimandia” is a concept album based on an interpretation of the figure of Egyptian god Seth. Starting from the fact that this is the only Egyptian deity we do not know about the hypostatic animal, we have developed a story that tells Seth’s research of his own origin. A journey that involves various questions to which this god can not find the answers.
As for the cover and the album’s name we referred to a poem by Percy Shelley that was our case, “Ozymandias”.
