“Polar Human Circle” è il quinto album firmato Raven Sad, progetto nato nel 2005 su iniziativa di SamueleSantanna, polistrumentista e principale compositore di un gruppo che dal precedente “The Leaf and the Wing”(2021) ha trovato una stabilità e una solidità a livelli di formazione che si riflettono perfettamente nei sette brani diquesto lavoro.“Polar Human Circle” è un altro coinvolgente viaggio a tinte progressive attraverso paesaggi sonori intensi e dallaforte carica evocativa, unconcepti cui testi, cantati dall’espressiva voce di Gabriele Marconcini, portanol’ascoltatore a interrogarsi sulla effettiva capacità di salvezza della nostra specie. In un tessuto sonoro dal respirointernazionale, che grazie a una componente hard e oscura inedita per la band unisce il prog-metal anni ’90(Queensrÿche) a sonorità più moderne (Riverside, Porcupine Tree, ma anche i Marillion più recenti), i Raven Sadaffiancano a brani più brevi e agili rispetto al passato un’epica title-track, che in quasi 27 minuti di durata si snodatra psichedelia, inserti orchestrali e fughe dissonanti.I Raven Sad si sono inoltre nuovamente affidati ai Sonoria Studio di Andrea Benassai, qui anche in veste diarrangiatore orchestrale, mentre a livello iconografico gioca un ruolo altrettanto importante la componente sideralee materica delle immagini di Gustav Willeit, elemento visuale imprescindibile e concreto scenario lungo il viaggiodi “Polar Human Circle” verso i confini della civiltà.Edizione in CD papersleeve.
