The Raah Project is the musical collaboration between composer/producer/vocalist Ryan Ritchie and violinist/composer Tamil Rogeon, both originally from the Melbourne hip hop septet True Live.
In 2009 the duo went into the studio with a full 22-piece horn band and 17-piece string section and created their debut album, Score. The record was blend of jazz orchestration, soul melodies, and hip hop bump. Score was positively received by the press, both in Australia and around the world. It was welcomed by tastemakers such as Ennio Styles, Benji B and Kev Beadle. Gilles Peterson featured the track ‘Trick Of The Light’ on his Brownswood Bubblers Volume 5 compilation.
The band performed at festivals including Melbourne Music Week, Australasian Worldwide Music Expo and Melbourne International Jazz Festival on the back of the album release.
