Ritorna Alberto Molesini, in arte Baro, con il progetto Baro Prog-Jets, bassista cantante e polistrumentista veronese che ha condiviso il suo percorso con La Sintesi, Elam/Baxnug di Milano, Hydra e Marygold. Una storia musicale in area progressive rock ormai più che quarantennale, tuttavia i primi due lavori – o prog-jets – risalenti agli anni ’80 sono stati pubblicati per la prima volta solo nel 2019. Ora la vicenda si arricchisce di un nuovo capitolo, un concept dal titolo “Utopie”. Racconta di forme di convivenza nate dalla violenza o dall’inganno che non mantengono le loro promesse. Da approcciare come un viaggio musicale unitario; è una fuga a bordo dei simpatici baloon di Susannp4 ambientata visivamente negli artworks fantasy di Kellepics, artisti incontrati nella città virtuale di Pixabay. Dopo una prima canzone scritta a suo tempo per la Sintesi e con testo in italiano (Nicola Rotta), il tutto si fa decisamente prog con 3 suites intorno ai 15 minuti ciascuna in cui si riscontra un songwriting accurato e la capacità di rendere fruibili passaggi e architetture di notevole complessità. Prog che potremmo definire classico, ricco di richiami in particolare a Yes e King Crimson che l’artista ha fatto propri e rielaborato personalmente. La prima stesura risale al 2004 ma, come per i lavori precedenti, è rimasta cantiere aperto per vari anni, evolvendo nei suoni e negli arrangiamenti fino alla versione definitiva.
Alberto Molesini, aka Baro (with Baro Prog-Jets), is back. Bassist, singer and multi-instrumentalist from Verona (Italy) who shared his journey with La Sintesi, Elam/Baxnug from Milan, Hydra and Marygold. His musical story in progressive rock area is now 40+ years old, however his first two works – so-called prog-jets – dating back to the 80s were published for the first time only in 2019. Now the story is about to be enriched by a new chapter, a concept (not by chance) named “Utopie”, which tells of forms of coexistence born of violence or deception that do not keep their promises. It should be better approached, therefore, as a unitary musical journey visually set in the fantasy artworks of Kellepics, an escape aboard Susannp4’s cute balloons, artists met in the virtual city of Pixabay. After the first song, written long ago for La Sintesi with Italian lyrics (Nicola Rotta), everything becomes decidedly prog with 3 suites around 15 minutes each, in which the listener may enjoy an accurate songwriting and the ability to ease complex passages and architectures of considerable complexity. Prog rock that can be defined as classic, full of references especially to Yes and King Crimson that the artist has made his own and personally reworked. The first draft dates back to 2004 but, as for the previous works, the construction site has been kept open for several years, evolving in the sounds and arrangements up to the final version.
