With apocalypso Esagono is one again opening up universes of sound long unavailable to music lovers. Rock-solid in substance, elegant in form, graphically provocative and apocalyptic in intent it sweeps away the pretentious mannerism that, despite a new millennium, continues to plague the field and its composer-performers. Apocalypto gives us strong, sincere emotions. The album’s eleven tracks seem to coalesce somewhere beyond professional experience of the members of the band, combining all the suggestions of a past that is especially pertinent today. This excellent album is capped with an hoomage to Ennio Morricone: “Metti una sera a cena” in an new version unleashes a wild frontier fascination without loosing any charm of the original version.
