Daniel Bevilacqua aka Christophe, Italian-born French singer-songwriter, born in Juvisy-sur-Orge on October 13th 1945, released on Vogue a great successful song: “Aline”, entirely written by him. He worked with Jolly Records from 1965 to ’67.

We recall an incident related to the 17th edition of the Sanremo Festival, when he was meant to participate with Modugno’s song “Sopra i tetti azzurri del mio pazzo amore” (Over the blue roofs of my crazy love); the album was already recorded, but Cristophe was forced to retire from the competition, due to the furious reaction of the same Modugno who did not accept his interpretation of the song, preferring Gidiuli’s one (a Jolly Records artist as well). It was said that Modugno liked Gidiuli more because he was from Puglia like him, while the malicious claimed that he feared the competition of French astists. It must be said that the song in the end had no success at all.

Today SAAR reissues his eponymous LP (originally released by Jolly in 1967) on CD, with some bonus tracks:
