Venetia & Anima* is an album and musical work created collaboratively by Donella Del Monaco and Paolo Troncon, together with the group Opus Avantra, and released in 2003.
Conceived as a recording project, it was subsequently adapted—including instrumental variations—for live performance.
It is a journey spanning archaic languages (Paleo-Venetic, Latin, Medieval Italian, Old High German) and modern ones (Italian, Venetian dialect), drawing on sonic influences from European and non-European musical traditions as well as contemporary music.
