What can we say about Fabio Zuffanti that hasn’t already been said? An iper-productive musician from Genoa, after more than 20 years of musical career he releases today his most varied, eclectic and personal album ever. In “La Quarta Vittima” (The Fourth Victim) he’s the full author of lyrics and music, and directs many of his past collaborators, among whom we find Agostino Macor and Laura Marsano (La Maschera di Cera), plus the young keyboardist Emanuele Tarasconi from Unreal City.
Lyrically inspired by Michael Ende’s “The Mirror in the Mirror”, musically speaking the album is a tortuous journey through multiple genres, in the best tradition of prog-rock. Far from being easy to hold, it’s an intricate and nuanced opus that the less superficial listener is invited to discover step by step; many of the Zuffanti’s supporters will undoubtedly be surprised to discover this still inedited side of his.
Much more has already been said about this record, which even before its official release has literally been praised by music critics. But one thing is indisputable: it is a work without compromises and free from obligations of any kind; among a myriad of ready-made releases, Zuffanti here shows that it is always possible to go further. The approach is therefore not immediate, but once inside the maze of “La Quarta Vittima” it will be really hard to leave! Masterpiece!!!

“Fabio has constructed a blackened, sorrowful album full of tarnished beauty, longing, and loss. It is incredible in the quiet, contemplative moments, and mesmerizing in the louder, excited passages.” (Jason Spencer, PROGARCHIVES – USA)
“I will say that fans of Zuffanti albums will get something that is very much represents many of the aspects we have loved from his work throughout the years, in a manner that feels personal and intimate, as a solo album rightfully should be. Congrats to Mr. Zuffanti on yet another solid release and, of course, for making sure we never have to worry about running out of music.” (Matt Di Giordano, PROGULATOR –
