Pierre Antoine Muraccioli, aka Antoine, born in Tamatave in Madagascar on June 4th 1944, French singer from Corsica, joined Saar Records at the end of 1966. Antoine was a particular kind, curious and restless, tireless wanderer, accustomed from childhood to travel the world dragged by his father who was forced to move with his family from France to Madagascar, from Canada to Cameroon, from one place to another and so on.
Once grown up, to scrape together a little money and keep as engineering studies Antoine began singing folk songs in the streets and clubs in Paris with his guitar. He soon realized that he preferred music to thermodynamics.
In 1966 he was hired by Vogue Records, since they liked his music his modern, bizarre and countercurrent lyrics. The album “Elucubrations d’Antoine” was a huge success. He took a degree in engineering, as his father wished, then began to do what he liked best, the artist.
He became a headliner at the Olympia Music Hall in Paris, and Gurtler, who never missed any opportunity, asked for him at Vogue Records. The Italian adventure for Antoine began in 1966 with the publication of four singles.

Pierre Antoine Muraccioli, in arte Antoine, nato a Tamatave in Madagascar il 4 giugno 1944, cantante francese di origine corsa, capitò alla Saar alla fine del 1966. Antoine era un tipo particolare, curioso e irrequieto, girovago instancabile, abituato fin da piccolo a girare il mondo trascinato dal padre che per lavoro era costretto a trasferirsi con famiglia dalla Francia al Madagascar, dal Canada al Camerun e così via.
Antoine, divenuto adulto, per raggranellare un pò di soldi e mantenersi agli studi di ingegneria iniziò a cantare canzoni folk per le strade e i locali di Parigi accompagnandosi alla chitarra. Capì ben presto di preferire la canzone alla termodinamica. Nel 1966 fu ingaggiato dalla Vogue. Erano piaciute le sue invenzioni musicali e i suoi testi, moderni, bizzarri e controcorrente. L’album “Elucubrations d’Antoine” fu un grandissimo successo. Prese la laurea in ingegneria, come desiderava il padre, poi si mise a fare quel che più gli piaceva, l’artista.
Divenne vedette dell’Olympia Music Hall di Parigi, e Gurtler, che non si lasciava sfuggire nessuna buona occasione, lo richiese alla Vogue.
L’avventura italiana per Antoine iniziò nel 1966 con la pubblicazione di quattro singoli. Oggi la SAAR ripubblica il suo LP omonimo in versione CD, inserendo diverse bonus track.
