I Möbius Project nascono nel 2005 a Sapri (Salerno, Italia) tra le mura della soffitta di un vecchio palazzo ottocentesco situato nel centro della cittadina. Si tratta, oltre che di una semplice sala prove, di un punto di ritrovo di ragazzi mossi dalla passione per la musica e per l’arte in genere. E’ all’ interno di questo contesto dinamico che la band, inizialmente nota come “Sphera”, comincia a delineare i propri gusti musicali ascoltando e suonando brani di gruppi come Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, AC/DC, Beatles, King Crimson, Area etc… I Möbius Project accrescono il proprio interesse per la musica esibendosi dal vivo in svariati locali della zona, affinando progressivamente le loro capacità esecutive e acquisendo confidenza con il palco.
La band ha l’opportunità di partecipare a diversi festival alternando alle cover i primi pezzi originali. Nel 2008/2009 la formazione inizia a maturare l’idea di dar vita ad un progetto di brani inediti, avvicinandosi alle sonorità progressive degli anni ’70 ed evitando che il divario temporale gli impedisca di caratterizzare uno stile moderno e indipendente. La scelta coincide con l’allontanamento da Sapri di tre componenti del gruppo per motivi di studio, causando un rallentamento nello sviluppo e nell’arrangiamento dei brani.
Tuttavia nel 2011 i Möbius Project acquisiscono la consapevolezza di aver raccolto idee a sufficienza per la (auto)produzione del loro primo album, il che li spinge a canalizzare tutti i loro sforzi nel completamento degli arrangiamenti. Il 2013 è l’anno che li vede impegnati nelle sessioni di registrazione di “Ra Me Nivar”, il loro album d’esordio, che vede la luce nell’aprile del 2014 ed è presentato ufficialmente dal vivo nell’estate dello stesso anno.

The Möbius Project is born in 2005 in Sapri (Salerno, Italy) within the walls of the attic of an old eighteenth century building in the town center. It is not only a simple rehearsal room but also a meeting point for young motivated people by a passion for music and art in general. Inside of this dynamic environment the band, initially known as Sphera, begins to outline their own taste in music listening and playing songs of bands like Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, AC/DC, The Beatles, King Crimson, Area etc… the Möbius Project increase their interest in performing live music in various local venues, gradually honing their executive skills and gaining confidence with the stage.
The band has the opportunity to participate in various festivals alternating cover songs to their first original pieces. In 2008/2009 the group begins write only original songs, approaching the progressive sounds of the ’70s but still sounding modern and independent. The decision coincides with the departure of three band members for study reasons, causing a slowdown in the development and in the arrangement of the songs.
However, in 2011 the Mobius Project acquires enough knowledge and ideas for the (self-)production of their first album, which drives them to channel all their efforts in the completion of the arrangements. 2013 is the year that sees them involved in the recording sessions of “Ra Me Nivar,” their debut album, which sees the light in April 2014 and is officially presented live in the summer of that same year.
