THE WATCH is a 5 piece band born in 2001. Their music is inspired by classic 70’s style progressive-rock.
Melodies and energy are the main features of The Watch music. Their brand new album “Tracks from the Alps” is the band’s sixth studio album, which looks like being one of their best since their first one released in 2001. The musical atmospheres in the album change a lot through the songs, from very rock powerful progressions to quiet and more acoustic sections performed by 12 strings guitars arpeggios and electric pianos. Producing the album the band has used only original instruments from the 70s, like mellotron, hammond organ, synthesizers branded moog, electric pianos hohner (the same one used by Beatles), double neck and 12 strings electric and acoustic guitar. Arrangements are rich and melodies are always to be discovered and something never foregone, this is what keeps the tension high when listening to this album. Lyrics are all about the Alps, a place that was very important in some of the band’s members life. From 2008 The Watch are touring regularly and extensively all around Europe, UK, US and Canada bringing their music on stage and adding some tunes from the band that has inspired them throughout the years, Genesis. Melodie ed energia sono le caratteristiche principali della musica dei The Watch. Il loro nuovo album ” Sentieri delle Alpi ” è il sesto album in studio della band , e sembra essere uno dei loro migliori. Le atmosfere musicali contenute nell’album sono cangiant passando da rock molto potenti a più tranquille progressini e le sezioni più acustiche sono eseguite alla chitarra 12 corde accompagnata da pianoforti elettrici . Per registrare l’album la band ha utilizzato solo strumenti originali degli anni ’70 , come mellotron , organo hammond , sintetizzatori moog, pianoforti elettrici Hohner ( lo stesso utilizzato dai Beatles ) , chitarre a doppio manico e chitarre a 12 corde elettriche e acustiche. Gli accordi sono ricchi e le melodie sono sempre da scoprire, e tutto concorre a mantenere alta la tensione durante l’ascolto di questo album. I testi parlano delle Alpi , un luogo che è stato molto importante per alcuni membri della band. Dal 2008 i The Watch sono in tour regolarmente in tutta Europa, Regno Unito, Stati Uniti e Canada portando sul palco la musica dei Genesis degli anni 70 eseguendo perà anche alcuni brani originali della band. Un CD da non perdere per tutti gli amanti del più schietto Genesis-sound!
