(Un)Connected the new magnificent progressive journey of “La Bocca della Verità”
(Un)Connected (dis-connected) means that we delude ourselves that we are in contact with each other, because today’s technology gives us this sensation. In reality, the web and the virtual world are slowly becoming a surrogate – almost an aberration – of reality and no longer just a pleasant momentary estrangement from it.
The presumed ease and speed with which we manage to obtain anything today (from objects to interpersonal relationships, including friendship and sex) increasingly prevent us from deepening human relationships, which are based on understanding, on the trust gained over time , on love, hate, disappointments and their acceptance as a moment of reflection and growth.
Therefore “connected”, but actually also “disconnected”, because by now we are becoming incapable of implementing deep communication first of all with ourselves, then with others. The consequence of all this is that we feel more alone than before.
The only way left for us to give meaning to our existence in the contemporary age is the rediscovery of love. Without it our life is meaningless. Sentimental love, love for Art, love for Nature, love for others.
So living a life marked by great values (in our privacy, as in the community) makes us useful and ready to accept the transience of life itself which today, in a narcissistic way, we deny as if it almost concerned only others.
So: don’t pretend that death doesn’t exist, but accept it as part of life itself and commit (first of all with ourselves) so that we can live life in a meaningful way.
Living a life in the name of Love, respect and the Beauty of Nature, seeking some form of spirituality that allows us to get in touch with ourselves and the world, will make us better.
